Terms of service
The contract between you and Altha. Written for the alpha: short, honest, and as user-friendly as French and EU law allow.
Last updated: May 2026Acceptance
By creating an Altha account, joining the waitlist, or otherwise using the service (the "Service"), you accept these Terms of Service (these "Terms"). If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
Alpha status
The Service is in alpha. It is provided as is, without a service level agreement, without an uptime guarantee, and with the expectation that bugs, schema changes, and occasional data loss may occur. Do not use the alpha for production-critical workflows. We recommend keeping an external copy of any content you care about while the alpha is running.
Who we are
Altha is currently operated by Paul Gazagnaire, an individual based in France, pending the registration of a French société par actions simplifiée (SAS). On registration, the SAS will succeed to these Terms by operation of law; the rest of these Terms will continue to apply, with the entity name and registration number replacing the individual operator. Registered users will be notified of the transition.
Your account
You create an account through Clerk. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential, for all activity that happens under your account, and for promptly alerting us at security@altha.ai if you suspect unauthorized access.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to do any of the following:
- Send content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that violates a third party's rights.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or access controls.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service except via APIs we expose for that purpose.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except where mandatory law expressly permits it.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or its outputs as a standalone product.
- Use the Service to build a directly competing product, or to train a model that competes with the Service.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable export controls, sanctions regulations, or anti-corruption laws.
Your content
You retain ownership of all product content you submit to the Service (features, PRDs, dependencies, chat messages, attachments, comments). You grant Altha a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited license to host, store, process, transmit, and display your content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you and your organization. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for backups in progress and aggregated, anonymized statistics that no longer identify you.
AI processing
Altha uses Anthropic's Claude API for conversational product discovery, PRD analysis, and graph audits. AI processing requires explicit organization-level consent, which an organization admin grants in settings. Without consent, AI features are disabled. Details on Anthropic's retention (up to 30 days, not used for model training) live on /security and /privacy.
Intellectual property
Altha, the Altha logo, the wordmark, the brand identity, and the Altha software (including its source code, documentation, design system, and trained prompts) are the proprietary property of the operator. No license is granted to you beyond the right to use the hosted Service in accordance with these Terms.
Pricing and changes to pricing
The Service is free during the alpha. Paid plans will be announced before any paid tier is introduced. Existing users will receive at least 30 days written notice (via email to the registered address) before they are required to subscribe to keep using the Service. During the notice period, you can export your data and close your account at no cost.
Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other party's non-public information disclosed under or in connection with these Terms with at least the same degree of care it uses for its own non-public information of similar nature, and in any event with no less than reasonable care. This does not apply to information that is publicly available, independently developed, or that must be disclosed under applicable law.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability. Nothing in this section excludes warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of Altha's aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service and these Terms, whether in contract, tort, or any other legal theory, is limited to the greater of:
- One hundred euros (€100), or
- The total fees actually paid by you to Altha in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim (which is €0 during the free alpha period).
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or exemplary damages, lost profits, lost revenues, lost data, or lost goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law (including for gross negligence, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Altha and its operators against any third-party claim, demand, or proceeding arising out of (i) content you submit to the Service, (ii) your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or (iii) your violation of applicable law, including the costs of defense and any amount finally awarded.
Termination
You can terminate these Terms at any time by deleting your account from settings; the deletion is permanent. We can suspend or terminate your access for material breach (for example, violation of Acceptable Use), for fraud, for legal risk, or if continuing to operate the alpha is no longer reasonable. Where the law allows, we will provide reasonable advance notice and a chance to export your data before termination. Sections that by their nature should survive (IP, Confidentiality, Disclaimer, Liability, Indemnity, Governing Law) survive termination.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris, France. If you are a consumer based in the European Union, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country in which you have your habitual residence.
Changes to these Terms
We will give registered users at least 30 days advance notice of material changes by email. Non-material changes (typo fixes, wording polish, contact address updates) are published without notice. If you continue to use the Service after a material change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, your remedy is to stop using the Service and, if you wish, delete your account.
Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Notice, and the Security page form the entire agreement between you and Altha and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject.
- Severability: if any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force; the unenforceable provision will be construed to give effect to the original intent.
- Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a corporate event such as the incorporation of the operating SAS, a merger, or an asset sale.
- No waiver: a delay or failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
- Notices to you: by email to your registered address. Notices to us: by email to hello@altha.ai.
